Hong Kong SAR has long recognised and enforced foreign arbitral awards in accordance with the New York Convention. Unique mutual award enforcement arrangements exist between China Mainland and Hong Kong SAR, as enhanced by recent legislation. Successful enforcement requires understanding of the interplay between the two legal systems and how to navigate the local courts at each stage of the arbitration process.
Join series chair Amanda Lees and guest panellists Paul Starr, Xu Xianhong, Liu Yang, and Suraj Sajnani for this session focused on the practical issues you might encounter and best strategies to adopt when seeking to enforce awards in these jurisdictions.
