This practical webinar will focus on the experiences of two teachers with some practical strategies that focus on motivating, engaging and sustaining interest. Come for ideas about:

  • Pedagogy that works with girls
  • Extra-curricular activities
  • Strategies that increase enrolments in Science subjects in senior years.

Presenters

Adele Hudson is Head of Science at Aitken College and teaches middle school science, and senior chemistry, physics and mathematics. Coming from a background in research, Adele is passionate about providing students with opportunities to engage in real-world investigations, finding that when students understand the relevance of their learning, they are more likely to value the subject and invest time and energy.

Meg Bailey is a passionate teacher of secondary Maths, Science and VCE Environmental Science at Templestowe College. Formerly a meteorologist, Meg now leads her school’s project-based learning and student-led elective programs as Learning Specialist – Student Agency and Authentic Learning. For her work in engaging students and developing whole school programs Meg was awarded 2023 Australian Teacher of the Year (Government) at the Australian Education Awards.
